Recycling Waste & Rubbish
We take recycling of waste extremely important, we currently recycle around 90% of all the waste we collect from our skip hire services.
Recycling has always been important, but never more so than in the 21st Century. The environmental benefits of re-using and recycle materials is enormous and is therefore something we should be doing automatically.
Recycling means processing materials that we would normally throw away into the rubbish tip and create new materials and products.
For too long we have been throwing away valuable materials such as glass, paper, metals, copper, aluminium, iron and steel, all of which can be recycled and used again
A lot of materials can be recycled, here is a list of everyday items that can be successfully recycled:
- Old Furniture
- Old Clothes
- Broken Glass
- Smart Phones
- Electronic Parts
- Electrical Appliances
- Aluminium Cans
- Empty Metal Cans
- Metal Wire
- Metal Cable
- Many more..
It is estimated we currently burn and destroy 12.5% of solid waste, emitting harmful gases in the atmosphere. The rest of the waste, around 250 million tons, ends up in landfills annually throughout the country. There has to be a better way!
We can all do our bit to reduce the waste and rubbish mountains to help and protect the environment for the future. Buy sensibly and recycle when ever possible and it will reduce the pollution levels and the fight against climate change for generations to come.
Here are some interesting facts and statistics on waste in the UK.
